New Gallery (in Jimbocho, Tokyo) is pleased to present MeMonsters, the first solo exhibition by actor Airu Kubozuka.
The exhibition brings together dozens of drawings that Kubozuka has created over the course of several years alongside his acting career, as well as a new series of glass works created especially for this exhibition.
The title MeMonsters is a coined word combining three elements: Me (Kubozuka himself), Memo (a brief record), and Monsters (imaginary creatures). True to its name, the exhibition is inhabited by a variety of creatures that exist nowhere else in the world, born freely from Kubozuka’s imagination at the moment when brush and space come together.
The result is a paradise shaped by his imagination. We invite you to experience MeMonsters, Kubozuka’s first solo exhibition and a vivid new dimension of his creative expression.
